Israel Bans 12 Britons Over Sanctions

Foreign Ministry releases names of UK parliamentarians and officials who will be denied entry following Britain's sanctions on Israeli settlements in the West Bank

Israel's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday released the names of 12 British parliamentarians and officials who will be barred from entering the country, shortly after Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced retaliatory measures against the United Kingdom over its sanctions targeting Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

Topping the list is Jeremy Corbyn, a member of the British Parliament who previously faced accusations of antisemitism and was expelled from the Labour Party over his statements on the issue. Also included is Corbyn's colleague in the "Your Party" political movement, Zarah Sultana, a Muslim MP.

Of the 12 individuals on Israel's ban list, only one is not a member of parliament: Fahad Ansari, a lawyer who has represented Hamas in multiple legal cases in Britain and serves as director of the pro-Palestinian organization "Riverway to the Sea."

The remaining banned MPs include Naz Shah, Diane Abbott, Hannah Spencer, Carla Denyer, Sian Berry, Elly Chowns, John McDonnell, Richard Burgon, and Adrian Ramsay.
