Former Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar Sues Netanyahu for Defamation

Ronen Bar, former head of Israel's Shin Bet security service, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Bar presented evidence to the court claiming he delivered two "dramatic series" of warnings to Netanyahu in April and July 2023. "I waited silently for three years for the establishment of a commission of inquiry, all while facing an ongoing smear campaign. In light of the prime minister's unrestrained outburst, I have decided not to remain silent," Bar stated.
