France May Open Embassy in Ramallah After Recognizing Palestinian State

France is considering opening an embassy in Ramallah following its planned recognition of a Palestinian state next month, presidential adviser Ofer Bronchtein told journalist Tomer Almagor. Bronchtein said the October 7 massacre “would not have happened if there had been a Palestinian state,” adding that Paris is “trying to prevent Israel from entering Gaza City.” He warned Israel could face “very strong resistance” from the international community over its actions in Gaza, though France hopes “to avoid the imposition of sanctions.”
