Greece to Train All Soldiers in Drone Operations, Defense Minister Announces
Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias announced that every conscript in the Greek army will be trained to operate drones and anti-UAV systems as part of a military modernization plan. Dendias outlined Greece's response to what he called the "significant Turkish threat," highlighting the domestically-developed "Centaur" anti-UAV system as "one of the most advanced" in the world. Greece expects to receive its first F-35 fighter jets by late 2027 or early 2028, aiming to field 200 modern fighter aircraft. Dendias stated the goal is to build "the strongest army in Hellenistic history."
