Hamas Agrees to Release All Living Hostages at Once

A senior Palestinian source told Al Jazeera that notable progress has been made in the prisoner lists and in securing guarantees that fighting will not resume following the release of hostages. According to the source, Hamas has agreed to release all living hostages in one phase, while delaying the handover of the bodies of fallen captives until conditions on the ground permit. The source added that mediators have requested both the Israeli and Palestinian sides conclude negotiations by Friday. The mediators reportedly showed understanding toward Hamas’s request for withdrawal maps from deep within Gaza’s cities prior to the release of hostages. They also emphasized to the Palestinian delegation that, if an agreement is reached, U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to formally declare an end to the war.
