Hamas leadership vote concludes between Mashal and al-Hayya to replace Haniyeh

Voting has concluded to elect a new chairman of Hamas's political bureau to replace Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed nearly two years ago, according to unofficial channels affiliated with the group. The contest was between Khaled Mashal and Khalil al-Hayya, deputy to Yahya Sinwar. Results are expected to be announced later this week.
