Hamas Military Wing Threatens Israel

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has issued a threatening statement, warning that Gaza will be a "cemetery" for Israeli soldiers. "Gaza will not be your playground," the statement read. "We are not afraid of you and are ready to send your soldiers' souls to hell. We have prepared for you an army of martyrs and thousands of ambushes and engineered devices." The statement further warned that Israel is entering a "cruel war of attrition that will cost you an additional number of dead and prisoners." In a direct reference to a long-lost Israeli airman, the group added, "In the end, the fate of your hostages will be like Ron Arad's."
