Hezbollah Arms Prompt Last-Minute Edits Before US Envoy Talks

The Lebanese Al-Jadeed channel reports that several amendments were made to Lebanon’s response to the American envoy Barak’s proposal before Lebanese President Joseph Aoun presented it to Barak himself. The revisions concerned Hezbollah’s weapons and followed a late-night meeting between Ali Hassan Khalil of the Amal movement (political aide to Parliament Speaker Berri) and Hezbollah representatives: the organization’s parliamentary bloc chairman Muhammad Raad and political advisor Hussein Khalil.
