Hezbollah Chief: Iran Will Prevail, Trump’s Threat Is ‘Despicable’ Sign of Weakness
Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem issued a fierce rebuke Monday against recent U.S. actions and threats toward Iran, warning that any attack on the Islamic Republic would come at “a very high price” for the entire Middle East. In an interview with Al-Ahed, Hezbollah’s affiliated media outlet, Qassem condemned President Donald Trump’s reported threat to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling the remark both “despicable” and a “sign of weakness.” “Trump is ignorant of Khamenei’s standing among Muslims and globally,” Qassem said, “and ignores the dangerous consequences of such threats ... Iran “will prevail” in the ongoing conflict, insisting the Islamic Republic is acting in self-defense. “Justice is on Iran’s side,” he said. “It is the one under attack. It has the leadership of a brave and resolute Supreme Leader committed to making the country powerful—and a united people who have set aside their differences to face American-Israeli aggression.”
