Houthi leader rejects Saudi-Turkey-Pakistan alliance, vows to continue "siege for siege"

Mehdi al-Mashat, head of the Houthi government in Yemen, responded to the Mecca Agreement defense alliance signed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. Al-Mashat stated that "the agreements do not apply retroactively, and the equation of 'siege for siege' will continue until its objectives are achieved." He warned that anyone participating in what he called the Saudi-led aggression and siege of 12 years "is an aggressor—even if he wraps the matter in flashy headlines," adding that Yemeni law determines how to deal with hostile states.
