IDF and Shin Bet Intensify Counterterrorism in Northern Samaria; Multiple Arrests and Weapon Seizures
As part of a broadened counterterrorism campaign initiated Monday, the IDF and Shin Bet, along with Israeli Border Police and ISA intelligence units, have increased their presence in northern Samaria. Yesterday evening, five battalions were deployed in Balata, Nablus, conducting extensive searches of hundreds of structures, resulting in seven arrests and the confiscation of weapons and military equipment. Overnight operations continued in Meithalun with further arrests and seizures. Additional counterterrorism efforts took place in Qalqilya, Salfit, and Jayus, where three suspects were apprehended and four rifles seized in Qalqilya alone. The security forces detained five terrorists linked to Hamas and Islamic Jihad involved in attacks and explosive device production. Confiscated arms and suspects have been handed to Israeli security for further action. These operations aim to prevent terrorist attacks and ensure the safety of civilians throughout Judea, Samaria, and Israel.
