IDF Chief in Gaza: “Iran Took a Hard Hit—This Could Help Us in Gaza”

Speaking from the Gaza Strip, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi stated Friday that Iran “took a hard hit” in the recent Israeli-led strike and suggested that the blow may accelerate Israeli strategic goals in Gaza. “There is potential that the impact on Iran will advance our objectives here,” he said. Halevi noted that the IDF is nearing the lines it set for the current stage of Operation Swords of Gideon, and once those are achieved, new courses of action will be proposed to Israel’s political leadership. “We will continue to act decisively to achieve the two primary goals of this campaign: the release of the hostages and the defeat of Hamas,” he concluded.
