IDF Chief of Staff deploys 98th Division to West Bank amid heightened alert

IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir announced the deployment of the 98th Division to Judea and Samaria (West Bank) to strengthen security and stability in the area. During a situational assessment at Central Command on Wednesday, Zamir stated: "During this sensitive period, we must maintain vigilance and multi-front readiness, preserve our freedom of operation, and swiftly thwart threats." He emphasized that "in light of the increased number of alerts across all fronts and the sensitivity of this period, the potential for escalation has grown." Zamir also condemned attacks against innocent people, stating such acts "do not reflect Israeli or Jewish values" and must be eradicated. The IDF will continue operating to enable the olive harvest while maintaining public order and safety for all populations in the area.
