IDF Chief of Staff: Israel remains in multi-front operation, forward defense areas established

IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir told the senior command forum that Israel remains in a multi-front operation and is working to solidify a new security reality. The IDF has established forward defense areas on frontlines adjacent to Israeli communities in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon, and must be prepared to remain there until sustained security is ensured. In his remarks at a conference at Ramat David Air Force Base, Zamir also addressed IDF values, stating "Women are an integral part of the IDF and of its operational strength. There will be no exclusion of women in the IDF." The conference included operational updates and discussions with Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz.
