IDF Chief of Staff visits Beaufort Ridge, says troops control key terrain and tunnel networks

IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir visited Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon, stating that Israeli forces now have operational control of the strategic area and its underground tunnel networks. "The Beaufort area is dominant terrain saturated with terrorist infrastructure. Hezbollah spent decades constructing underground tunnels throughout the area to threaten northern Israeli communities," Zamir said. He added that the Lebanese Armed Forces must fulfill commitments under the ceasefire agreement to clear Hezbollah terrorists, while the IDF remains prepared to resume offensive operations if the ceasefire is violated. Zamir credited the 36th Division for crossing the Litani River and achieving military gains that weakened Hezbollah, saying the organization "is exhausted and was defeated in every engagement with our forces."
