IDF Chief of Staff vows continued Lebanon operations until northern threats removed

IDF Chief of the General Staff LG Eyal Zamir stated during a visit to Nahariya and Shtula that Israel will continue targeted operations in southern Lebanon until direct threats to northern residents are eliminated. "We are fighting inside Lebanon in order to defend Nahariya and the northern communities, and to ensure long-term security for the residents," Zamir said. He emphasized that Hezbollah is sustaining significant damage and that operations will continue to deepen those losses. Zamir noted that the return of Lebanese populations will depend on demilitarization south of the Litani River.
