IDF commanders face new restrictions in Lebanon despite official statements

IDF commanders have been significantly restricted in Lebanon, with soldiers now allowed to open fire only in response to immediate threats unless they receive direct approval from the Chief of Staff, according to a New York Times report citing two Israeli sources. The restrictions contradict recent statements by Netanyahu and Katz. Additionally, IDF soldiers are prohibited from demolishing houses and infrastructure within the security zone without authorization from senior officers.
