IDF completes major exercise on eastern border, tests readiness for surprise attacks
The IDF conducted a Chief of General Staff exercise Friday to assess readiness for surprise attack scenarios along the eastern border in the 96th and 80th Division areas. The exercise simulated infiltrations into communities, drone threats, and complex incidents near the Dead Sea. Fighter jets and combat helicopters conducted dozens of aerial strikes, while special forces practiced rapid deployment to civilian areas. Air Force units simulated a terrorist hotel infiltration scenario. Initial assessments indicate that new defense directives and reinforced frameworks developed after October 7th contributed to successful responses during the exercise.
