IDF eliminates Hamas battalion commander, son of senior Hamas leader in Gaza strike
The IDF reports it eliminated Hamza Sharabati, a Shuja'iyya Battalion commander who participated in the October 7 raid on Nahal Oz outpost, in a strike in Gaza a week ago. The same strike killed Azam al-Hayya, son of Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas in Gaza. Hamas has now confirmed that Azam al-Hayya died of his wounds. According to the IDF, Sharabati was the primary target of the strike, while the death of al-Hayya, a Nukhba operative, generated greater media attention despite being collateral to the operation.
