IDF eliminates Hamas Nukhba commander who infiltrated Re'im Base on October 7

The IDF struck in southern Gaza Strip earlier this week, eliminating Maher Walid Omar al-Husseini, a Nukhba cell commander in Hamas' military wing. Al-Husseini infiltrated the Re'im Base during the October 7 massacre. The IDF stated the terrorist had recently advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and attempted to restore Hamas' capabilities in violation of the ceasefire. He was killed in an aerial strike. The IDF said precision munitions and aerial surveillance were used to mitigate civilian harm. IDF troops under Southern Command remain deployed in the area and will continue operating to remove immediate threats.
