IDF eliminates Islamic Jihad terrorist involved in October 7 attack and hostage-taking
The IDF struck in the Deir al-Balah area over the weekend, eliminating Mahmoud Fatair, a Nukhba commander in Islamic Jihad's Central Gaza Brigade. Fatair infiltrated Israel on October 7th and participated in holding hostage Rom Braslavski. In November 2023, he was documented wearing Islamic Jihad uniform during a hostage handover ceremony that included Amit Shani, Ofir Engel, and others. The IDF stated the terrorist recently attempted to advance attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians. Precise munitions and aerial surveillance were used to mitigate civilian harm.
