IDF eliminates Quds Force special operations commander in Tehran strike
The Israeli Air Force struck Tehran on Sunday, eliminating Asghar Bagheri, commander of the Quds Force's Special Operations Unit (840) since 2019. Bagheri held senior positions within the Quds Force and was involved in attacks targeting Israeli and American individuals worldwide. He planned terror operations against Israel, including attacks carried out within Israel, Syria, and Lebanon. Under his command, the unit conducted operations targeting IDF soldiers on the Syrian-Israeli border using Syrian operatives from Assad's army. Bagheri also worked to transfer weapons from Iran into Israel. The IDF says his elimination is part of significant damage being inflicted on the Quds Force's Special Operations Unit.
