IDF: Ground Maneuver in Gaza Continues as Planned, Despite Ceasefire Talks
Senior IDF officials said that forces in Gaza continue their ground maneuver according to pre-set operational plans, including territorial advancement and systematic clearing operations. Despite renewed ceasefire negotiations with Hamas, IDF sources stressed that these diplomatic efforts have not altered the conduct or tempo of ground activity. A senior officer currently fighting in Gaza told reporters: “We’re running forward—until someone tells us to stop. The troops can’t afford to be distracted by talks that may lead nowhere.” Currently, five divisions are operating across the Gaza Strip, with the primary combat zones concentrated in northern Gaza—specifically Shejaiya, Zeitoun, and the outskirts of Gaza City—as well as southern Gaza near Khan Younis and the Central Camps. The IDF is preparing to reach two of Hamas’s key strongholds: Gaza City and the Central Camps area, where high-ranking commanders and potentially hostages are still believed to be located. Cabinet ministers are also expected to discuss the risks such operations may pose to the hostages during tonight’s meeting.
