Prof. Yuval Elbashan reveals military intelligence is working to verify identities of anonymous speakers in controversial documentary: Some of the stories don't make sense

The public and legal storm surrounding the documentary film "NAZA" continues to expand, with new revelations about military efforts to verify the testimonies featured in the controversial work.

Prof. Yuval Elbashan disclosed during a conversation with Prof. Moshe Cohen Eliya and Dr. Yaakov Ben Shemesh on Galei Yisrael radio that Unit 8200, the IDF's elite signals intelligence unit, is actively working to authenticate the accounts presented in the film.

"Meanwhile, at Unit 8200 they're trying to understand whether these are actually soldiers from 8200," Elbashan revealed. "It could be that they are and they're not in the relevant divisions, and it could be all sorts of things. For now, we don't know."

Elbashan expressed serious doubts about the content of the testimonies shown in the documentary: "Some of the stories they're telling don't make sense."

According to him, if it turns out that the interviewees are indeed unit soldiers who were exposed to classified information and decided to reveal operational methods, the consequences for them would be extremely severe: "If it turns out these are soldiers who were exposed to information as part of their work and revealed methods, they could face charges, both criminal and field security violations."
