IDF Launches Advance Warning System for Rocket Fire from Lebanon
The IDF Home Front Command begins providing advance notice for rocket and missile fire from Lebanon starting Tuesday. The warnings will be distributed through the Home Front Command app, messaging platform, National Emergency Portal, and Telegram channels. Warning times vary by location: a few seconds along the conflict line, up to one minute in northern regions, and up to two minutes in other areas. Major General Shay Kelper states the system aims to give the public additional preparation time before alerts sound. Residents should move closer to protected spaces upon receiving advance notice. The IDF notes some alerts may activate without advance notice, and some advance notices may not result in sirens.
