IDF Launches Surprise Multi-Front Readiness Exercise "Breaking Dawn 2.0"
The IDF has begun a surprise exercise under Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir to assess readiness for a sudden, large-scale, multi-front scenario. The exercise, titled "Breaking Dawn 2.0," evaluates the preparedness of General Headquarters, main headquarters, standby forces, and reserves' ability to respond to complex operational scenarios. Commanders across regional commands, directorates, and branches have been called up, with forces being mobilized and reserves assessed. The drill tests decision-making processes and operational response at all levels ahead of the upcoming holiday season. Increased movement of security forces and aircraft will be visible throughout the country, though there is no security concern. The exercise incorporates lessons learned from combat across various fronts and from the October 7th events.
