IDF Opens Fire on Palestinians Crossing Yellow Line

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that troops opened fire earlier today at several Palestinians who crossed the Yellow Line—the boundary marking Israel’s withdrawal zone under the ongoing ceasefire—near Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Palestinian media reported that one person was killed in the al-Fukhari area during the incident. According to the IDF, the individuals advanced toward soldiers in a threatening manner and appeared to be attempting to access a Hamas weapons depot previously destroyed by Israeli forces. “The troops acted to neutralize an immediate threat, in full accordance with the ceasefire framework,” the IDF stated, warning local residents to avoid areas where Israeli forces remain stationed. This incident marks one of the first security confrontations along the Yellow Line since the ceasefire took effect.
