IDF reveals elite unit operation in southern Lebanon minutes before ceasefire

IDF soldiers from an elite unit conducted a special operation Thursday night, just before the ceasefire agreement took effect. The forces landed in the Christofani Ridge area in southern Lebanon and established an operational presence. The operation was approved by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and commanded by the Israeli Air Force Commander and Northern Command Commander. The IDF states it remains on high alert and will continue removing threats in southern Lebanon between the Israeli border and the designated line, in accordance with ceasefire understandings.
