IDF sentences soldiers for desecrating Christian symbol in Lebanon

The IDF concluded its investigation into an incident several weeks ago in southern Lebanon where a soldier was photographed desecrating a Christian religious symbol. The soldier who carried out the act was sentenced to 21 days of military prison, while the soldier who filmed the incident received 14 days. The investigation was conducted by ground commanders and reviewed by BG Sagiv Dahan, Commander of the 162nd Division. The IDF stated it views the incident with great severity and respects freedom of religion, holy sites, and religious symbols of all faiths.
