An Israel Defense Forces soldier who helps run the military's international TikTok account is facing disciplinary action after appearing in an hours long livestream with an American internet personality who has a documented history of antisemitic conduct.

The soldier, identified as Shira Braun, serves in the IDF's International Spokesperson's Unit, a department of about 20 soldiers, most of them lone soldiers or new immigrants, tasked with countering online disinformation and managing the military's social media presence across multiple languages. Braun appeared alongside Brayden Eric Peters, an American influencer who goes by "Clavicular," during an eleven hour livestream he broadcast from Tel Aviv last week.

Peters has faced renewed scrutiny in recent days over past associations with antisemitic content, including footage in which he sang along to lyrics invoking Hitler and a separate incident in which he was filmed giving a Nazi salute at a Miami nightclub. His reasons for traveling to Israel were not made clear.

During the broadcast, Braun told Peters she had login access to the IDF's TikTok account as part of her official duties, and Peters identified her on camera as an IDF social media manager while suggesting the two were dating, according to i24NEWS. After learning she managed the account, Peters raised the idea of uploading his own content to the platform. Braun responded that doing so could get her in serious trouble, and the idea was dropped following a phone call.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit confirmed the incident is under investigation and that Braun will face consequences. "The soldier acted without coordination with her commanders, and her conduct does not meet the standards expected of IDF soldiers," the IDF said in a statement.

The footage circulated widely online, drawing criticism from Israeli social media figures who argued Braun's appearance with Peters undermined the very mission her unit exists to serve, one built around countering influencers who spread disinformation about Israel. Braun said afterward that she received a wave of threatening messages and pushed back publicly, writing on Instagram that calls to harm a Jewish woman are not a defense of Israel's daughters.

The IDF has not said what form the disciplinary action against Braun will take, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
