Growing security tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the recent exchange of blows between Washington and Tehran have once again brought the Israeli defense system primary concern to the surface, which is the quiet advancement of Iran's nuclear program.

Danny Citrinowicz, a research fellow specializing in Iran and the Shiite Axis at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), spoke on Israeli radio to present a worrying situational assessment based on recent findings from the ground.

Unprecedented Visual Evidence

During the interview, Citrinowicz was asked whether the Islamic Republic is exploiting the current period of regional tension to advance its nuclear aspirations and accelerate the rate of uranium enrichment.

"Satellite imagery unequivocally shows that Iran is preparing something, certainly in the context of enrichment", the researcher responded decisively.

When questioned further about whether these developments are clearly visible through visual documentation, Citrinowicz explained that actions on the ground indicate the construction of advanced infrastructure that is far more resilient than in the past.

"When you look at the actions Iran is taking in this area, it is a new enrichment facility that Iran has reported on, which may be harder to strike than the facility in Fordow",Citrinowicz detailed.

Defying International Oversight

The expert emphasized that the severity of the situation stems primarily from the current lack of ability to closely monitor the activities within these closed facilities, leaving Israel and the international community in a vulnerable position.

"Iran is doing things there, and it is a disturbing event because we have no oversight", Citrinowicz warned. "We have been a year without supervision in a situation where the International Atomic Energy Agency is not there. We need to be concerned. What matters is the nuclear issue, and that is where the focus must remain at all times".

Critical Strategic Threats

Concluding his remarks on whether the imagery proves a definitive return to military-grade uranium enrichment for weapons production, the INSS researcher reiterated the need for high alertness regarding Israel's primary strategic threat.

"The photographs show ongoing work being conducted in the area," Citrinowicz concluded. "We must remain focused on what is being done in the Iranian nuclear program. What is happening according to the satellite imagery involves developments that should trouble us deeply".
