A rare and dangerous incident unfolded in recent days in southern Gaza: two Hamas terrorists crossed the Yellow Line, the buffer zone marking the edge of IDF-controlled territory, and attempted to steal advanced drilling equipment from Combat Engineering Corps forces. The drills, used to locate underground terror tunnels deep beneath the surface, are a critical tool in the IDF's campaign against Hamas's subterranean network.

The two were identified in real time by forces on the ground, holding the sensitive equipment as they tried to sabotage a key operational capability. An IAF aircraft was scrambled to the scene, and in a precision strike, both terrorists were eliminated with the drills still in their hands.

In a parallel operation, IDF forces working with the Shin Bet destroyed three weapons storage facilities in the southern Strip over the past week. According to a joint statement from the security forces, the warehouses were actively used by Hamas's military wing. Inside, the organization had stockpiled dozens of weapons of various types, intended for use against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.

Among the weapons destroyed: dozens of rockets and launchers, RPG rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, and a variety of peripheral combat equipment. The security establishment noted that prior to carrying out the strikes, precautionary measures were taken to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians as much as possible. These included advance warnings to the local population, the use of precision munitions, and targeted aerial surveillance.

The IDF emphasized that forces continue to operate to remove any immediate threat in the Yellow Line area, maintaining high alert against infiltration and sabotage attempts. "Security forces will continue to act decisively to degrade the capabilities of terror organizations in the Gaza Strip and to thwart any attempt to rebuild them or to hold weapons intended to harm our forces," the joint IDF-Shin Bet statement said.

The precision elimination and the destruction of the weapons caches send a clear message: any attempt to cross the line or to damage operational infrastructure will be met with an immediate and sharp response.
