IDF soldier Yair Eliyahu laid to rest after falling in Northern Gaza yesterday

Sgt. Yair Eliyahu z”l, an IDF combat engineer, was killed in an operational accident in northern Gaza. According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred when two military engineering vehicles—a D9 armored bulldozer and an excavator—collided during a routine mission. Eliyahu, who served in the Combat Engineering Corps, is being laid to rest this hour at the military cemetery in his hometown. Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi is attending the funeral as the official representative of the Israeli government. The IDF has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
