IDF Tank Fired Above Peacekeepers’ Convoy on Israel–Lebanon Border

The UN peacekeeping force UNIFIL said that an IDF tank fired bursts of gunfire above a convoy of its peacekeepers traveling in the border area between Israel and Lebanon. According to the statement, no one was hurt in the incident. UNIFIL said it immediately contacted the IDF through official liaison channels and requested that the fire stop. The organization added that Israeli forces had been informed in advance of the patrol’s location and schedule, in accordance with standard coordination procedures. The IDF has not yet issued a response.
