Iran criticizes Saudi-Turkey-Pakistan defense pact as directed against it

Iran has expressed concern that the trilateral defense alliance signed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan is aimed against it. Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of Iran's National Security Committee, criticized the Mecca Agreement, stating "The Saudis should know that an agreement on paper will not bring them security, just as years of one-sided reliance on the United States did not provide them with security." He added that Saudi Arabia should "correct your policy, so that you will not be forced to beg others for security."
