The broadcast shows groups of armed individuals standing or moving along the waterfront while carrying weapons. IRIB identified them as local residents and volunteers preparing to defend the area. The footage has circulated widely on social media, including through Israeli journalists Roi Kais and Guy Elster, and war-tracking accounts monitoring the conflict.
There is no independent verification of the scale of the armed deployment shown or of any U.S. military plans for a landing operation in the area.
Bandar Jask and surrounding ports including Sirik, Qeshm, and Bandar Abbas have been repeatedly targeted by U.S. airstrikes in recent months as part of operations around the Strait of Hormuz, which carries roughly 20 percent of global oil supplies. The IRIB broadcast appears designed to demonstrate Iranian readiness against a potential American ground operation, part of broader Iranian messaging about defensive preparations.
The footage release comes amid escalating U.S.-Iran military operations and ongoing discussions of ceasefire terms between the two powers.
