Iranian adviser threatens new Strait of Hormuz sanctions regime after war

Mohammad Khabar, a close adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, threatened to impose a new sanctions regime on passage through the Strait of Hormuz following the current conflict. "After the war, we will impose a new sanctions regime regarding passage through the Strait of Hormuz," Khabar stated. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global oil shipping chokepoint through which about one-fifth of the world's petroleum passes.
