Iranian MP Alleges IAEA Inspectors Spied Using Shoe-Chips

Mahmoud Nabavian, deputy chair of Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, has accused inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of espionage. Speaking to Iranian media on Saturday, Nabavian claimed the inspectors planted surveillance chips in their footwear to spy on Iran’s nuclear facilities. “The IAEA inspectors entered our nuclear sites with chips embedded in their shoes,” Nabavian alleged, asserting that these devices secretly gathered intelligence. The IAEA has not responded to the accusation, which echoes past Iranian claims of foreign surveillance under the guise of nuclear oversight. If confirmed, the incident could further strain already fraught relations between Tehran and international nuclear watchdogs.
