Iranian rial loses over half its value against dollar in 2026

The Iranian rial has lost more than half its value against the U.S. dollar since the beginning of 2026. On January 5, one dollar was worth 1,350,000 rials; by October 22, the exchange rate reached 2,730,000 rials per dollar, marking a continued collapse of the currency.
