Israel Finishes Second in Eurovision Despite Boycotts and Protests
Israel secured second place in the Eurovision Song Contest despite what organizers described as the largest protest in the competition's history and boycotts by five countries. Spain, Ireland, Iceland, the Netherlands, and Slovenia boycotted the event in protest over Israel's war in Gaza. Both judges and audience votes placed Israel in second position. Social media reports indicated many Iranian exiles voted for Israel in the competition.
