Israel-Lebanon Washington talks frozen over photo concerns, ceasefire uncertainty

Plans for a Washington meeting between Lebanese President Aoun and Israeli PM Netanyahu have stalled, according to Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar. Aoun is reportedly concerned about appearing in a joint photo with Netanyahu without achieving concrete results. U.S. officials told Aoun there is no guarantee a full ceasefire will be reached before any Washington visit, and that Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon would be a negotiation topic rather than a precondition for talks.
