Israel's Most Expensive Summer: Sky-High Flight and Vacation Costs
As Ben Gurion Airport resumes normal operations, most foreign airlines have yet to return, causing a sharp rise in prices due to lack of competition. Round-trip summer flights now start at 1,700 NIS per person, while El Al tickets to New York exceed $1,400. Passengers stranded by foreign carriers have been forced to rebook at double the cost. Vacationing in Israel isn’t any cheaper: a family stay (two adults, two children) at Leonardo Royal Resort between August 10-14 costs 8,807 NIS, while the Isrotel Royal Beach charges nearly 17,692 NIS. With competition scarce, prices are soaring, and Israeli travelers are paying the price. (Information partially based on ice data)
