Israel to release 5 Lebanese detainees in exchange for locating murdered Jewish leaders' bodies

Prime Minister Netanyahu has instructed officials to advance efforts to locate and return bodies of Jewish community leaders kidnapped and murdered in Lebanon in the mid-1980s. As part of negotiations with Lebanon, Israel will release 5 Lebanese civilians detained in southern Lebanon who were found not to be members of terrorist organizations or involved in terrorism. Lebanese channels report Israel will also hand over prisoner Malek Kamal Ghazi, 20, via the Naqoura crossing as a "gesture of goodwill." Netanyahu has worked on this issue for decades, including during his tenure as Israel's UN ambassador.
