Israeli Defense Minister reveals strike on Syrian airfield to counter Turkish threat

Defense Minister Israel Katz disclosed that Israel struck Abu al-Duhur airfield in Syria after receiving intelligence about Turkey's intentions to conduct operations there that would endanger Israeli security. Katz stated the IDF recommended the strike multiple times, and before authorizing it, Israel issued a direct warning to the Syrian regime at the highest levels and shared intelligence with U.S. authorities. After the warning went unanswered, the Prime Minister and Katz authorized the strike, which was successfully executed. Katz said "Erdogan was caught with his hand in the cookie jar and was forced to retreat," adding that Israel will act against any threat to its security.
