Iran Regime Collapse: Israeli Intelligence Predicts 2027

Political analyst Amit Segal reported from the prestigious MEAD conference held this week in Washington, describing a dramatic shift in regional strategy against Tehran. According to Segal's weekly column, while previous years focused on the difficulty of defeating Iran's proxy forces, this year's gathering was characterized by unified coalition-building against Iran itself, with participants expressing consensus that subduing the regime represents the Middle East's most critical challenge.

The central conclusion emerging from the meetings, Segal writes, is that "the Islamic Republic is in far worse condition than it appears." However, he emphasizes that the process is still expected to unfold over an extended period.

Segal revealed details from a presentation by "a very senior Israeli official, now in civilian life," who described on stage how Iranian intelligence leadership was eliminated through careful analysis of meeting schedules. Intelligence identified a Ministry of Intelligence session scheduled to end precisely when another officers' meeting was set to begin.

The decision to strike came after "someone arrived with advice: attack at 9:49, because intelligence officers everywhere always like to run long," Segal reported. The recommendation was accepted, the officers extended their session, and according to Segal, "they all went up in smoke in the middle of the briefing."

These military operations are being coordinated with mounting economic pressure. Segal reports that "after about six months of an American blockade on Hormuz, the Mossad's assessment is that if the U.S. doesn't tire or break, the first quarter of 2027 will see Iran's fall."

Segal also quoted a senior American official who promised at the conference that such a scenario would mean "a new Middle East," noting that the notion Iran emerged strengthened from the conflict has almost entirely disappeared.

Regarding anticipated political developments, Segal estimates pressure on Tehran will only intensify after elections in Israel and the United States. Should Republicans win, Segal writes, "liberated, without further elections in his political life, Trump could assault Iran with furious rage," though Netanyahu's room for maneuver in a transitional government remains less clear.

Beyond the Iranian issue, Segal reported an unusual warning delivered at the conference by "a senior figure in political and technology circles." The speaker cautioned that the world is "currently digging its own grave due to misunderstanding of AI," estimating that the combination of quantum computing and artificial intelligence could destroy humanity within twenty years.

Segal concluded with a pointed observation: facing a global threat of such magnitude, even eliminating Iran's nuclear program suddenly seems somewhat less urgent.
