A fatal accident struck the Bangladesh military during a live-fire training exercise at the Tetuazari Command Training Area in Chittagong district, located in the country's southeast. An explosion inside a Type 59 tank left two soldiers dead and one officer critically wounded.
According to a statement from the Bangladesh Army's public relations directorate, the blast occurred during a routine artillery training drill. The force of the explosion inside the armored vehicle killed two members of the tank crew instantly. The critically injured officer was airlifted by military helicopter directly to the Combined Military Hospital in the capital city of Dhaka for emergency medical treatment.
