Israeli Ministers Offer Mixed Signals on Return to Routine
As Israel inches toward normalcy following the ceasefire with Iran, key government ministers delivered varying messages Tuesday about the country’s readiness to fully reopen. Education Minister Yisrael Katz said it was still unclear whether schools would reopen on Wednesday: “We’ll assess with the Home Front Command and update the public as soon as possible.” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich struck a more optimistic tone, saying, “The economy is expected to return to full activity, but we must approach this cautiously.” Meanwhile, Transportation Minister Miri Regev held a press conference—mid-flight. Filmed aboard a commercial aircraft, she declared with a smile, “Let’s fly! Ofir, start the engines already—let’s go!”
