Israeli Police Block Northern Roads as Druze Cross Into Syria

Israeli police began blocking roads in the country’s north in an effort to prevent thousands of Druze citizens from reaching the border with Syria. Despite the crackdown, several Druze crossed from Israeli territory into Syria and boarded local vehicles headed deeper into the war-torn country. According to security sources, the IDF will not be able to extract those who have already crossed. The developments come amid growing unrest over the Syrian regime’s assault on the Druze city of Sweida.
