Israeli authorities cleared for publication on Sunday that Mizrahi singer Shimon Buskilah was the artist questioned under caution in connection with allegations of threatening and harassing a former romantic partner.
According to reporting by Lee Ayash on i24, Buskilah was summoned for questioning on Friday following a complaint filed by his ex-girlfriend detailing what she described as serious threats and harassment. Police conducted a confrontation between the two parties during the investigation. Following the questioning, the singer was released subject to restrictive conditions.
The couple recently ended their relationship. According to the allegations, Buskilah sent numerous messages to his former partner following the breakup that were threatening and harassing in nature. However, sources familiar with the case indicated that the threats did not reach the most severe level.
Buskilah arrived at the police station voluntarily on Friday after being summoned for questioning. In the evening hours, investigators arranged a confrontation between him and his former partner, during which each maintained their own version of events. At the conclusion of the investigation, police released the singer under conditions that restrict his movements and contact.
