Officers from the Northern District arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody. According to the initial police investigation, the lawyer and his partner had been involved in an argument shortly before the incident. Authorities believe the suspect then began striking the car with a hammer while the woman remained inside the vehicle.
The suspect appeared in court the day after his arrest, where a judge extended his detention through Sunday. Police are expected to bring him before the Nof HaGalil-Nazareth Magistrate's Court again to request a further extension of his remand. In a statement, police said they would continue to act against anyone who poses a threat to the safety and security of others, and would pursue the full extent of the law against offenders.
